Freya Hinrichsen MAPS

Freya Hinrichsen has worked as a psychologist for over ten years. She has a health and well being focus, assisting her clients towards understanding themselves and their situations, and providing them with strategies to help them towards happier and more effective lives.

Freya Hinrichsen has consulted with management and employees, using psychological techniques to improve work and personal effectiveness where people have difficulties with such issues as, stress, work relationships, role stress, anger, assertiveness, communication skills, addictions with gambling and alcohol, and depression and anxiety.

She has consulted with the corporate sector on information referral linkages to appropriate health settings, and using multimedia channels to disseminate health information and strategies. She runs laughter workshops promoting team building, creative problem solving, and joy in the workplace.

More recently with a colleague, Ms Marisa Abate, they have developed the Australian Health Assist program, a continuation of their commitment to make psychological tools accessible, effectively supporting and assisting people to move forward in their lives.


Marisa Abate (Registered Psychologist)

Marisa Abate has worked with clients of different age groups, nationalities and presenting issues for over 15 years. She has held counselling, training, advisory and management roles in the educational sector for 10 years, and has provided counselling, coaching and consulting services within her private practice for the past 10 years.

She has worked with clients at different levels of management and from a broad range of industries including manufacturing, health, I.T., travel, hospitality, entertainment and the retail sector. Within her work settings, she has regularly played an advisory role to management on staffing and employee issues. She has also developed training workshops and seminars on issues such as total quality management, responding to critical incidents at work, and dealing with difficult customers and people at work. Her particular area of interest is in working with individuals and groups using creative techniques for increased self-efficacy, personal development and problem solving.

Marisa has had post-graduate training and experience in the health and well-being area. She has developed a partnership with a colleague, Freya Hinrichsen, and they have set up Australian Health Assist in order to help both employees and their work places to become healthier, happier and more productive.
